Wal-Mart is going organic. Wild Oats Organics will soon be sold in their stores. A study they conducted found that 91% of customers would choose organic foods if they were affordable. Wal-Mart intends to make organic food affordable. This is good news and gives hope that organic food prices will drop as consumer demands rise.
What would it be like if most of our farms switched from chemical farming to organic farming? Here is the Organic Center’s graphic depicting the benefits of buying just one organic product out of every ten we purchase:
God gave us dominion over the earth and we have choices we can make with regard to how we manage His creation. Taking care to keep our waters clean of chemical runoff, ensuring that our soil is healthy and free of chemical poisons that kill beneficial insects like bees, and providing nutrient filled food for each other is one way that we can fulfill God’s purpose for us.
